Happy Easter/Passover!

This is just a quick entry to wish everyone a very happy and safe one, whichever you celebrate. I'm currently back at my parents' 2-flat. But this time it isn't cancer-related. Although, like I mentioned in a previous entry I refuse to blame myself nor anybody else for this. It's nobody's fault including mine, and I fully support that claim. Well, perhaps we shall blame the lymphoma on the idiots currently occupying the White House? I think that is a wonderful idea. But I'm here to help celebrate a sibling's birthday, and Easter Sunday. Cancer Sucks, But...

Hi everyone. Okay okay, stop the presses already! Whoever thought I'd be writing an entry about cancer, much less titling an entry "Cancer Sucks, But..." and actually having the balls to publish it here? After all, I'm not a Cancer but an Aquarius! Ya know, the Water Bearer? Age of Aquarius? Well...as it turns out I have a form of cancer called lymphoma but unlike perhaps others with cancer, I'm not going to go all negative about it. After all, I really don't understand that terribly much about it but would say I'm just accepting it and am most certainly in good hands. I'm told that this isn't *exactly* what my late sister had, but that it is at least somewhat similar. After all, she and I took the same kidney anti-rejection meds--or some of the same ones. Apparently one of those anti-rejection meds, if taken for a long enough period of time, causes some sort of negative reaction in the body. So I'm not going into the medical part of this. But I'd like to say a big thank you to those who have supported me thus far, including of course my family. I'd also like to thank those in advance who will be supporting me in whatever way possible, whether emotionally or something else. Am I hinting at something here? Lol possibly. I'm not a particularly emotional person though. Some friends have speculated that this might in at least some ways not be a good thing. I think I recognize that, or am starting to partially recognize some of the unclear parts.

For those of you on the SNAP/Link program and living here in America, I'm so sorry. But it seems our dear criminal-in-chief has done it again. That's all I'm gonna say on the matter, as I'm not on food stamps myself and therefore don't know much about them. But additionally, I'm out of time.

iOS 26

Hi folks, hope this finds you well. I'd like to let everyone know who doesn't, that Apple released their major software updates for the year 2025 to the masses on Monday. Thus far I've only upgraded to iOS 26. Not 19 but 26. I've no idea what exactly happened to 19 through 25, but there you go. Anyway, thus far this version is working well for me. There are of course several accessibility enhancements included, which as always are detailed on AppleVis. At least a lot of them are detailed on AppleVis. I don't know about anyone else, but to me it seems like more enhancements than usual were included this time. Apple has included some new and exciting enhancements to the Braille experience, which is cool for those of us who own a Braille display. I am indeed one of those people, and even though I'm not big on the "Braille is literacy" thing I am excited to try these out. Some of this stuff is a bit confusing to yours truly, but I'll eventually get the hang of it all.

Midweek Update: part 2?

Hi everybody. I wanted to come back here and give a brief update on registering for the CareerConnect Job Seekers' Toolkit. In a prior entry I stated that I was unable to complete registration due to the CAPTCHA situation. Well...I had some more time to kill today so thought I'd attempt that registration form again. This time however, I was able to submit the form and am now set. The random audio CAPTCHA which I got today worked for me, and I received confirmation via email. I haven't yet begun their training, but it looks interesting and pretty extensive. That is all for right now.

iOS Journaling App

Well peeps, it seems I found yet another cool app, but this one only appears to be for iOs devices for now and it is aptly named Journal. Most of you have no doubt heard of this app, if not used it yourselves. I'm happy to report that as with everything Apple has done, this app works well with their screen reader. So it looks as though Dreamwidth might have some competition, lol! Actually Dw doesn't have a mobile app afaik. I just logged my meals for the day, and am going to try and edit the entry to include snacks. But before I do anything else on my iPhone, it will be begging me to quench its thirst once again. Hi everyone and welcome to all. I hope this finds everyone well and behaving themselves. Well...I'm guessing most of us know who is *not* behaving himself? That's absolutely correct, our dear asshole-in-chief! The one who has returned to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue for his second--and hopefully final--term. I'm hoping and praying he actually gets impeached and literally thrown out on his not-sorry ass, but perhaps that's just me. After all, I'm a nice guy who cares and I think people know that by now.

Happy 34th, ADA!

Yes indeed, it was 34 years ago today that the Americans with Disabilities Act became law. I don't have too much time to devote to this, but we've sure come a long way and still have a long way to go. By now you've all no doubt gained somewhat of an understanding of personal experiences on the matter. But what I will say is that now is most certainly a good time to be visually impaired. I suppose that now is also a good time to be hearing impaired, but I don't yet have enough experience to make a definitive statement like that. I am very impressed though with my hearing aids. My father brought by some cleaning supplies for the hearing aids, which seems to help out. I more or less have yet to find an accessible user guide for them, although Apple seems to have an entire page or 3 on their website which is dedicated to made-for-iPhone hearing aids. I don't know whether others are discussed or if other types even exist.

Hi everybody and happy Friday once again. Not much to speak of again this week. As a matter of fact, I've decided to stop publishing here regularly, unless something of note happens--good or bad. I'm finding that I have a lot to do, and I therefore haven't had as much time to devote to this journal. I have 3 separate journals now: this one, a gratitude journal, and one on my smartphone which I'm currently using for health-related stuff. I've also had other things to do.
