Employment Update
May. 4th, 2019 05:17 pmHi everybody. The title sums it up pretty well. I received a message a week or so ago from a CIF staffer containing links to 2 websites about crowd-sourcing technology. He thought I'd be interested, so I checked them out. I don't want to go into too much detail in this space, only because I don't know much about them yet. I registered on both these sites, and am happy to report that they seem to be pretty accessible. The first of these sites was http://www.utest.com , and I had a bit of trouble with their registration only because I was using my iPhone because some of the form fields didn't seem to work properly on my Mac with either screen reader. Once I got past the registration though, the site seemed to cooperate on my Mac at least with VoiceOver. This site seems to have somewhat of an international flavor. The other site in the email was https://www.mturk.com , and it is part of Amazon. I'm not quite sure what all I'll be doing for these companies, but it involves software testing of some kind. I am most likely going to be paid for these gigs, but I'm not sure how that'll work yet because guess who is not terribly good with financial matters? Lol but this is definitely a step in the right direction for yours truly, and I am excited to learn more about these 2 and start working for them. Incidentally, I ended up having to create a new Amazon account a couple days ago because my original one was terminated by my former employer. But major kudos to Amazon for their great disability support, both online and by telephone. The representative with whom I spoke got my issue resolved very quickly, and account creation was very accessible using VoiceOver.
That is all. May the force be with each and every single one of you!
