Hi everyone. Another week has gone by, and you know what that means. This week I'm highlighting [community profile] accessibility_win . As the name suggests, this comm is for stories about good accessibility. I just updated my iPhone yesterday to iOS 13, the latest and greatest from Apple. Other companies have gotten it right when it comes to accessibility, and I commend them on their efforts. Apple is one of those companies, and iOS 13 is no exception. I'm still figuring stuff out because there are some new things, but more about that in a future entry.

I'm at my parents' place again for the weekend. Tomorrow my niece has a birthday and we're celebrating. So I'm closing for now. So long, farewell, and all that good stuff. Talk to everybody on the flip side.
Greetings. Entry title says it all. Just yesterday I got iOS 13 successfully installed on my phone. There are a lot of new things and I'm figuring them out bit by bit, but I think I have done enough to give an opinion. I'm not going to go over all the changes and enhancements, because once again that's already been done. But as always, AppleVis has a very good run-down of all that is new and improved in this update. I have to say though, that I might not have one of those new features enabled yet because I just got a call from an unknown number. I'm referring to the feature that sends all unknown calls straight to voicemail. But this and all the other new stuff is very nice. One other new feature which I'm excited about is Voice Control, and I briefly checked it out just a bit ago. I suppose this is perhaps an extension to Siri, but I haven't played around with it enough yet. The numerous other access enhancements to VoiceOver seem to work very well too, and I'd like to thank Apple for their ongoing commitment to universal access.

But besides accessibility, iOS 13 contains other wonderful things. The first update to iOS 13 is already due out next week. Unfortunately, I cannot say much about the new Dark mode since I cannot see the screen. But Cupertino once again did not disappoint yours truly. Not that I've been there 'cause I haven't, but ya get my drift. My thanks also to AppleVis for their tireless work on behalf of those of us with low or no vision. Rock on!
Hello to everybody. I'm going to attempt one of these again. I updated to iOS 13 yesterday and have had a bit of time with it. So here goes. I walked an average of 1790 steps over the past week. The Health app in iOS 13 is a bit different than I thought it would be, so I need more time to explore it.
