Dec. 3rd, 2021 06:55 amThat's right folks, the year has flown by and white stuff is starting to fall upon a lot of us. To those of you who celebrate it, happy Hanukkah. I pray it has been all that you hoped for. I for one am getting excited for that big day when a certain jolly old fellow makes his presence known for many of us. It'll be so great to once again be with family.
I wish I could say that the new heating/cooling is fully up and running in my building, but that's still not the case. I've heard mixed answers as to when it will be fully functional, but I think we'll get there eventually. Last I heard the radiators here are going to be permanently shut off and perhaps removed by year's end, but we'll just have to wait and see what happens. People close to the situation have told me not to get too excited about this, but this is a major investment by the landlord and his crew. If they're true to their word, this will all be totally worth the wait. Some in the building have been whining and complaining about the length of time this process has taken, and tbh those people might be correct to some degree. One of my neighbors even went directly to the executive director-in-training of Center for Independent Futures with the help of another staff member. But I've lived on this planet--and in this building--long enough to know that most things just don't happen overnight. In addition, the landlord(s) and their crew have done a very nice job since they were handed the keys to the building back in 2015. They might not always be perfect, but who or what is?
Well, I think I'll draw this thing to a close now. But before I do that, I'd like to wish everybody a most happy International Day of Persons with Disabilities. So much has been accomplished in our space, and I've no doubt progress will continue.
