Belated Happy Birthday to Me

Hi everyone. Hope you are well. My birthday last weekend was a success and I got lots of good things, including a new kitchen light complete with ceiling fan. I found this out from a neighbor/friend who called and told me that it was being installed. So when I returned from my parents' place I checked it out. It works well and my tutor is also glad to have it in.





I *think* we're perhaps one step closer to having new heating and cooling throughout the building, but it just seems that with every ounce of progress we take a step backwards. That appears to have happened with the new system which was installed in my apartment. It seems that only cold air is coming out of the vents, so either it is on the air-conditioning setting or something is truly amiss with the system. If in fact it is set to air-conditioning, nobody seems to know how exactly to operate the thing and I've been getting cold air for almost 3 days. If the latter is the case, that has to be dealt with ASAP. But hopefully this issue will be resolved very soon. Our landlord says he wants to fully convert us over to the new heating/cooling before too long. But one thing I do know for sure is that the new system in my apartment is energy-efficient and therefore quiet. I'm all for energy efficiency, being kind to the environment, and all that good stuff. But only time will tell.
