Oh No! Where Has Friday Gone?
Jun. 19th, 2022 07:06 amHi everyone and welcome to the end of the week. It is still Thursday here in the Land of Lincoln, but by the time this entry goes to press it will undoubtedly be the weekend. That's just how things fly around here sometimes. Anyway, I've had another good week and I hope others have as well.
I started the other work-out class a couple days ago along with a neighbor. For now at least he and I are the only class participants. I won't speak for him, but I like it down there and hope to do more. I've known one of the people for several years who now works there, and the other person is great too. Plus, I've been told that I need to work out more and I agree with that assessment. But I've also continued to use the kettle bells that are up here in the pad.
Last week I mentioned an online mindfulness course that I enrolled in. I've completed some of the lessons, and although I don't consider myself one who needs meditation I'm learning how to do this and am enjoying it. I'm thinking about taking the other courses offered on the website. For anybody else wishing to enroll, the site is http://www.tarabrach.com . I'm happy to report that in addition to the wealth of information I'm gaining from the course, it is proving to be very accessible with the screen reader which I'm using. The course instructors are both trained in meditation. But in addition to courses, this site contains a plethora of other useful information. I for one have wanted to know more about psychology for some time, and the website seems to be a good place for that. In addition, I have some questions for one or both course instructors. These things have been on my mind for a little while now. Some of this involves another person living in the area though, so I won't discuss that here. But I've honestly become rather curious about meditation for people who have visual impairments. Since we are very in-tune with our other senses, I'm wondering if meditation is a great thing for us. I for one, am finding it a very pleasant experience even though I don't really need it given things such as family.
