Friday Once More
Sep. 10th, 2021 06:27 amHello everybody and welcome back to Friday. I hope the week has once again been good to everyone. It's been good to me as well. I'm still here at the pad trying to figure out the meaning of life, lol. I have asked Siri and it gave me a scholarly answer all the time. Lol perhaps I should ask the A-person and see what I get. I actually did this once but my device didn't understand me. I think a train was going by outside at the time, or perhaps it was the noisy radiators here in the building. In any case, this is something which I'd like to try out again. Speaking of all things Amazon, a male voice is now available for their virtual-assistance devices. He was accompanied by a new wake word. In other words, the company's devices will now answer to an additional name. But in an attempt not to trigger any of their devices which may be located somewhere within the vicinity of the reader, I kindly refer you to your search engine of choice.
In other tech news...I've been reading a bit more. It appears that the sleep timer in one of the apps on my smartphone has been fixed. Either that or an iOS update fixed the issue of books not advancing. I have become a bookworm over the years due in large part to the National Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled, colloquially known as NLS. They are of course part of the Library of Congress. Those of you who qualify for it and have yet to become a patron, I cannot recommend them highly enough. What this bug fix means for me is that I don't have to constantly read and re-read parts of a book over and over again if I don't want to. If you're like me and your to-read pile is large, this is good news.
Well I think that's it for now. As always please take care, and pbe safe and sound.
