So What's the Verdict?

jazzyjjHey everybody. I am back to give my initial impressions of Apple's latest Mac offering, OS 11 Big Sur. I'm told Big Sur is in California, but I'll have to research it because the source didn't know exactly what it is. But anyway, upon hearing that Apple had an outage a couple nights ago, I decided to wait until last night to begin the update process. The download finished this morning and I was able to proceed with installation.
Once again I'm not going to give a "What's New, What's Old, What's growing mold" summary. Those can be gotten from various places throughout cyberspace, including AppleVis. But what I can tell you is that I'm impressed with this update thus far. I'm noticing a bit of a speed increase, and that is with the sounds turned on. Speaking of sounds, it appears Apple has replaced some of them and added additional new ones. One feature improvement which particularly excites me is the image descriptions. I really appreciate when companies take the time to do something like this for their screen reader users, so I'm therefore a happy apple. Lol that was actually a throw-back from my growing-up days. My parents had a fun little toy called a Happy Apple. I doubt Apple manufactured it though, but perhaps they did and those things are still around. Anybody please feel free to tell me in the comments. The thing had bells in it, and was decorated like--ya guessed it--an apple! Yum!
But back to the Mac. I'm looking forward to developers having access to a speech API or three. That is, if they will at all. But everything else screen reader seems the same. A few bugs here and there have been squashed, ouch! But I never considered them show-stoppers anyway. The only speech-related issue which I and perhaps others considered a show-stopper was the constant crashes. But I'm pretty sure those days are behind us now and we're moving on.
