That's right, yesterday was the day, hence my not posting. It went well, and I had an uninterrupted sleep last night other than the space heater shutting off by itself at some point. It might've been off the entire night, but I'll check on that.
Anyways...as per my previous entry I did indeed receive my first shot yesterday. Somehow the local health director was able to squeeze us in at one of the hospitals even though the state has not entered the next phase. I think their extension of the current phase was bumped up or something. Thank you health director! I'm going to try and write him, as well as the others who made this happen. My building mates and I were asked to congregate at a local hospital along with some neighbor/friends from another building, and register as one large group. This included some staff members of Center for Independent Futures. We did not have to wait long at all. My temperature was taken by a robot, along with a staff member's temperature. Then we were asked to go sit down and given paperwork to fill out. He did this for me, and within a short time the 2 of us were called back to the area where shots were being administered. A COVID-19 screening was given to us, and then we received the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine. I was thinking it would be Moderna, but I'm told they're the same. Then he and I sat in a waiting area for about 15 minutes, and we were cleared to go home. All of us are scheduled to return on 9 March for our final doses. Then we will be fully vaccinated, woo-hoo!
This wasn't the hospital which I normally go to for anything, but they were organized and did a very nice job. But I'm told that this hospital is not currently equipped to handle patients with seizure disorders such as epilepsy. How true that actually is I don't know. But I'm so glad I got the first jab. My left arm is a bit sore and I experienced some tiredness, but other than that I'm feeling fine. Thanks as always for reading/commenting, and best of luck to those of you who have yet to receive your first or second vaccine doses.
