Hi everybody. Hopefully y'all are staying dry today. I've been trying to do that myself, and fortunately for the most part I've succeeded. This week has once again not been bad over here.

As the title suggests, I survived my first tornado. Actually not quite but read on. I was cuddled up in bed on Sunday night after a nice weekend with my brother at our parents' place, when I heard a loud buzzing from my "blind Swiss army knife" which at the time was on my nightstand. The buzzing was accompanied by an audio read-out which said something about an approaching tornado. Sirens were blaring outside. I was rather warn out so didn't think much of it. In addition, I didn't think this could happen to us. But then I heard a neighbor's voice coming from close by. He had unlocked my apartment front door and come into my bedroom to let me know that the tornado was making its way through, and to please go to the nearest windowless location. That happens to be my bathroom, so I got back up and went in there for awhile and shut the door. I took the iPhone in there. Do Not Disturb was turned on for the night, but said neighbor instructed me to please turn it off so that's what I did. As I later found out from another neighbor, the tornado missed us but he and I found out on the news that it touched down about an hour or so away and wreaked a lot of havoc. But I think these weather alerts are just one more techie thing to be thankful for. Both the government ones and the ones provided by 3rd-party apps such as Weather Gods. I fully recognize everybody has their own personal preferences when it comes to these things, but if you can afford the low price and are lucky enough to be an iPhone user, WG comes highly recommended by this user for screen reader users and others. I don't believe this app is yet available on the other platforms, but somebody please feel free to enlighten if necessary.

I think I'll close for now, as the other things I did this week involve disclosing rather sensitive info so take care. As always be safe and kind. More next week.
