Hi folks. It seems Friday has rolled around once more by golly! I've had yet another good week, and I hope the same is true for y'all. I watched "Jurassic Park" with several neighbor/friends a couple days ago at a nearby theater. Audio description was available with this one, and I of course took advantage of that feature. The audio description was well done, and I'd like to sincerely thank the theater for this as well as everyone over at the Audio Description Project. It seems more and more stuff is becoming available with AD, and that is indeed a good thing. I only wish I had more time to avail myself of it, but I *think* we're working on that one.

As previously mentioned I've been taking some online courses. I'm happy to report that both websites are very accessible with my screen reader, although there seems to be an intermittent screen reader bug on one of them. If this bug persists, I'm going to contact the website in question and also follow up with Apple's accessibility people. Regarding the course content, absolutely no complaints on my end. One of these courses deals with meditation, and as previously stated on here I'm enjoying it. Meditation never entered my life until recently, but I'm finding it very pleasant indeed and highly recommend it to others who are into that sort of thing. If not that's okay. I think this begs the following question though: do opinions differ in this regard across the political spectrum? Inquiring minds want to know. It appears that at least some people on the far right don't care for meditation. That is fine by me so long as they don't sick their opinions on others, as they seem to have done with other things.

That's all for this entry. As always please be safe and take care.

There are dozens of types of meditation. Almost everyone has experienced the "zone" or "flow" state that most meditation aims to create. But the versions of meditation that most people have heard about are the harder and less-appealing ones, like "no-mind." Folks have also heard "Knitting is cheaper than therapy, plus you get warm things!" but few of them recognize it as a form of moving meditation (akin to mala meditation with prayer beads). The most infamous exercise, the Doorway Exercise, has been incorporated into a card game that is hilarious to play and in my observation more effective (due to the game mechanics).

There are so many forms of meditation that something should suit almost everyone, but because few classes or resources mention this, it's largely unknown. Search online for "types of meditation" though, and you'll hit the big lists. :D

That's true if you use the word "meditation." But forms involving traditional crafts like crochet or activities like wood chopping are more common on the right. They don't call it meditation, but they sure do take out their frustrations on the woodpile until they feel calm again.

Regrettably they believe that nobody really has rights, that "might makes right" and you get whatever someone important decides you should have. This is ruinous to a functional society. Meanwhile the left is responsible for creating "cancel culture" and other problems. >_< I have to admit it's impressive for America to fail so hard at both ends simultaneously -- like that time Australia was on fire and underwater.
