Hi everyone and welcome to the Thanksgiving edition! I'm coming to you now because I will be occupied in the morning. I'm currently at my parents' place, and had Thanksgiving here. As usual we had turkey and all the wonderful trimmings, plus 2 delectable desserts provided by a sibling of mine. I didn't quite gorge out like I thought would be the case, but I got enough to eat and drink. I am of course thankful for a lot, and I'll discuss one of those things in a bit. But in addition to another wonderful T-giving, the rest of the week has been very good.
Those of you who are Dreamwidth regulars--like myself--know that this platform does not contain any Facebook "like" buttons, Twitter "follow" buttons, or anything like that. I don't know about anyone else, but I have seldom if ever gotten those things to work without a fight. Well...there is now a de-centralized social-networking platform which seems to solve this dilemma,. This is good news, in light of everything that Elon Musk is doing as the new head of Twitter. It has been going since 2016, but I only recently found out about this other platform, and am not yet familiar with all its features. It is called Mastodon, and has various communities where people can sign up. So you don't sign up directly on Mastodon itself, although these communities are based on the platform. The platform calls them "instances". For more on this check out the following guide courtesy of Robert Kingett. Find the guide at this link: https://blindjournalist.wordpress.com/2022/05/01/mastodon-for-writers-and-readers/ . Hope to see everybody around the neighborhood! Those requiring accessibility of any kind should not be disappointed, as it seems the developers have a vested interest in the subject.
With that I think I shall close on another week. I hope all stay out of trouble and talk again soon.
