Hi everyone and welcome to yet another quick entry. Hope all is well.

First off, I for one am very happy upon reading the news last night of former President Donald John Trump's indictment. I heard a little bit about it too on NPR earlier this morning. This will most certainly go down in the history books, and hopefully it'll be covered eventually in schools across the nation. Who knows, perhaps even the far right-leaning teachers will cover it but I suppose only time will tell.

Well...looks like that's gonna have to do it for now. So until next week, don't get indicted for something stupid and bone-headed like our dear former president just did.

Criminal acts by Presidents have usually been left unprosecuted, or pardoned by their successor, in order to protect the dignity and authority of the office.

Someone has taken a view that Trump did so much damage to the office and institutions of authority that the point is moot.

...And somewhat overtaken by events: a Presidential 'pardon' only covers federal offences, and State prosecutors are pursuing fraud offences that are fully within their own jurisdiction: and it would discredit the Federal courts if their prosecutors sat on evidence of more serious offences.
