End of June
Jun. 30th, 2023 07:03 amHi everybody and welcome to the final day of June 2023. I hope this finds y'all well and not stirring up trouble. Good, me too. The week has been good as always, and thankfully temps in my corner of the universe have indeed warmed up hopefully at least for the remainder of June-August.
As some of you know yesterday the iPhone officially turned 16 years old. Some may not consider this a milestone, but I do and so does Apple. I don't work for Apple, nor will I ever claim to work for them because I don't have the necessary qualifications. However, I am a proud Apple customer and therefore feel I have the right to speak my mind. As everyone who reads this journal knows by now, I jumped head-first into the wonderful world of iOS in 2018. Or perhaps it was feet first, or maybe both. I dunno but I'm certainly glad I took the plunge. I'm not going to recount my entire journey with the iPhone because I've done that already. But what I will say is that the iPhone is making me more independent day by day, or at least it seems that way. Obviously there are still tasks with which I need help from a live human being, just as everyone else needs that live one-on-one help from time to time. But there are things that my trusty i-device has done for me which I never would've even dreamt could be possible. Things like telling me the contents of a can from my refrigerator, or calling on somebody in a distant city to assist me in navigating my inaccessible thermostat. Well...this person had difficulty even with working eyeballs, but was very kind and patient. But you get the idea. And nope, the can from my refrigerator was not beer. I do have a funny story though involving--of all things--a can of beer which I will recount in a future entry. I could sit here all day writing about technology, but I have other things which need doing. What I would like to say though, is thank you Apple for making me and others like myself more independent!
With that, I think I'll close. To those of us here in America, have a happy and safe Fourth of July.
